Criko Privacy Policy
How Criko protects your information, in the Criko app and on criko.in.
Last updated: 18 October 2026
Criko is a cricket scoring app for Android, made by optivanTech (“we”). This policy explains what the app collects, why, and the choices you have. It covers the Criko app and the criko.in pages it links to.
What we collect
- Your Google account details: your name and email address, when you sign in with Google. Signing in is required to use Criko. We do not receive your Google password.
- Your Criko profile: your player code, whether other people can find you by email or code, and whether you want our newsletter.
- Your cricket data: the teams, players and matches you create, and every ball you score. Players you add may be people with a Criko account, or guests added by name only.
- Sharing records: which shared matches you opened, and the match share codes you used.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos or payment details, and we do not show advertising.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account.
- To back up your matches and teams, so they are not lost with your phone.
- To let people watch matches live: registered players in a match, and anyone you send a match’s share link to while it is shared.
- To let other Criko users find you by your name, your exact email or your player code, so they can add you to a team. You can turn this off in the app under Account.
- To send you news about Criko by email, only if you opted in. You can opt out at any time in the app under Account, or with the link in any email.
- To keep the service secure, for example by limiting repeated look-ups.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who can see your data
- You see everything you create.
- Players in your match who have a Criko account can watch that match.
- People with your share link can watch that match while you share it. When you stop sharing, the link stops working.
- Other Criko users who search for your name, exact email or player code see your name, your player code and a hint of your email address (its first letter and domain, such as r…@gmail.com, never the whole address), unless you turned discovery off.
Where it is stored
Your matches are stored on your phone, and backed up to our cloud database, run by Supabase, when you are online. Sign-in uses Google. Data is sent over encrypted connections, and each account can reach only its own data and the matches shared with it.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account, in the app or by asking us, we delete your profile, your teams, players and matches from our cloud. Players in other scorers’ teams who were linked to you stay there as a name only. Matches remain on your phone until you remove the app.
Your choices and rights
- Change whether people can find you, and newsletter consent, in the app under Account.
- Stop sharing any match from its share screen.
- Delete your account at any time in the app under Account → Delete account. This removes your profile and everything backed up to it straight away.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account for you, by emailing us at the address below.
Children
Criko is not directed at children under 13, and they should not create an account.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.

The criko.in website
This part covers visits to the criko.in website: its calculators, guides, statistics and contact form.
Who runs it
Criko (“we”, “us”) runs criko.in, a website of cricket calculators, guides and statistics. You can contact us about privacy at support@criko.in.
Information you give us
Contact form. When you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, the topic you choose, the calculator you mention (if any) and your message. The form sends these to us by email so we can reply. The website does not keep a separate copy of your message.
Comments. If you comment on an article, we collect the name, email address and comment you enter, together with your IP address and browser details to help detect spam. Your email address is never published.
Information collected automatically
Calculators. The figures you type into a calculator are processed in your browser. They are not sent to us or stored.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are visited, how long visits last, the type of device and browser, and approximate location. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. Google’s use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Spam protection. The contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which loads on the contact page only. It collects information about your device and how you use the page to tell people from automated programs. The Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
Server logs. Like every website, our hosting provider records technical information such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
Advertising
Criko may show advertising provided by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info. Learn more about how Google uses cookies in advertising.
Cookies and your choices
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Criko uses cookies for analytics and, where advertising is shown, for ads. Where the law requires it, for example for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we ask for your consent before setting cookies that are not strictly necessary, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the calculators work without them.
How we use information
- To reply to your messages and fix problems you report.
- To understand which pages are useful and improve the site.
- To keep the site secure and free of spam.
- To show advertising that helps keep Criko free.
We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep information
We keep contact emails for as long as we need them to deal with your message. Comments stay with the article they belong to until they are removed. Analytics data is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics account.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 or the GDPR, you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to withdraw consent. Email support@criko.in and we will respond.
Children
Criko is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Links to other websites
Criko links to other websites, which have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for how they handle information.
